A little about myself…
About 20 years ago I attended my first yoga class with my mother. I thought I was looking for a different type of exercise, but what I found was so much more. I found something that provided for not only my physical wellness, but my mental wellness, too. Over the years, I have been reliant on the moving meditation I find in yoga to help with taming anxiety and stress. After partaking in a 200 hour teacher certification class, and a Kids Yoga certification course, much of my focus as a teacher has shifted to the importance of the breath and mindfulness emphasized through the philosophy of yoga.
As a long-time teacher of kids of all ages, I find that I practice yoga both on the mat and off the mat. I am committed to helping others, both children and adults alike, to feel confident using breathing techniques and mindfulness skills. What I would like is to be able to help others bring yoga into their own day-to-day lives by cultivating the peace one finds in challenging physical work, and ultimately find the ability to quiet their own nervous systems.
